🎓 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, ensure you meet the following requirements:
1. Educational Qualification (UG Courses)
B.Tech (Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture): 10+2 with minimum 60% aggregate in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) and 50% in English.
B.Sc (Nautical Science): 10+2 with minimum 60% in PCM and 50% in English.
DNS (Diploma in Nautical Science): 10+2 with minimum 60% in PCM and 50% in English.
BBA Programs: 10+2 with minimum 50% marks (Note: Entrance test is generally NOT required for BBA).
2. Age Limit (As of August 1, 2026)
Minimum Age: 17 years.
Maximum Age:
General/OBC: 25 years (Male), 27 years (Female).
SC/ST: 30 years (Male), 32 years (Female).
3. Medical Fitness
Candidates must be medically fit as per DGS (Directorate General of Shipping) norms.
Eyesight: For Marine Engineering/Nautical Science, 6/6 vision is usually required (Unaided) with no color blindness.

The fee is non-refundable and must be paid online.

BBA Programs (Only): ₹200 (Gen) / ₹140 (SC/ST)

Step 1: Basic Registration – Visit APPLY and click on the "CET 2026 Registration" link. Create an account using your Email and Mobile Number.
Step 2: Fill Application Form – Enter personal details, academic scores (10th & 12th), and address.
Step 3: Document Upload – Upload scanned copies of:
Passport-size Photograph.
Signature.
10th & 12th Marksheets.
Step 4: Fee Payment – Pay the registration fee using Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI.
Step 5: Final Submission – Review your details and submit. Download and print the application confirmation for future reference.

Duration: 3 Hours (180 Minutes)
Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Total Questions: 200
Subjects: Physics (50), Mathematics (50), Chemistry (25), English (25), General Knowledge (25), and General Aptitude (25).
📚 IMU CET 2026 Detailed Syllabus (UG Programs)
The syllabus is divided into six core sections. The technical subjects (Physics, Maths, Chemistry) follow the Class 11 and Class 12 curriculum.
1. Mathematics (50 Questions)
This is the most crucial section. Focus on speed and accuracy.
Algebra: Sets, Relations and Functions, Complex Numbers, Quadratic Equations, Sequences and Series (AP/GP), Permutations and Combinations.
Trigonometry: Trigonometric Functions and Inverse Trigonometry.
Calculus: Limits, Derivatives, Continuity, Integrals (Definite & Indefinite), and Differential Equations.
Coordinate Geometry: Straight Lines, Circles, and Conic Sections (Parabola, Ellipse, Hyperbola).
Vectors & 3D Geometry: Vector Algebra and Three-Dimensional Geometry.
Probability & Statistics: Mean, Variance, Standard Deviation, and Probability Distributions.
2. Physics (50 Questions)
Mechanics: Units and Measurements, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy, and Power.
Thermodynamics: Heat, Temperature, and Laws of Thermodynamics.
Electromagnetism: Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current, and Electromagnetic Induction.
Optics: Ray Optics and Wave Optics.
Modern Physics: Dual Nature of Matter, Atoms, and Nuclei.
Fluids & Solids: Properties of Bulk Matter, Gravitation, and Oscillations.
3. Chemistry (25 Questions)
Physical Chemistry: Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, Solutions, Chemical Kinetics, and Equilibrium.
Inorganic Chemistry: Periodic Table, P-Block, D-Block, and F-Block Elements.
Organic Chemistry: General Organic Chemistry (GOC), Hydrocarbons, Alcohols, Phenols, and Ethers.
4. General Aptitude (25 Questions)
This section tests your logical thinking and "common sense" reasoning.
Logical Reasoning: Syllogisms, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Series (Number/Alphabet), and Analogies.
Quantitative Aptitude: Basic Math (Ratios, Percentages, Profit/Loss, Time & Work, Speed & Distance).
Spatial Ability: Paper folding, Image patterns, and Cubes/Dices.
5. English (25 Questions)
Grammar: Parts of Speech, Tenses, Voice (Active/Passive), Narration (Direct/Indirect).
Vocabulary: Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms and Phrases, One-word Substitutions.
Comprehension: Reading passages and answering questions.
6. General Knowledge (25 Questions)
Current Affairs: Major national and international events of 2025-2026.
Maritime Awareness: Basic knowledge of ships, oceans, and famous ports (very helpful for IMU).
General Science & Geography: Basic facts about India and the world.

💡 Pro-Tip for 2026 Candidates:
Since there is no negative marking in IMU CET (usually), make sure to attempt all 200 questions. However, prioritize Mathematics and Physics during your study hours, as they carry 50% of the total marks.
