Section 2 — Key Answers
Q21. "Save" overwrites the currently open file under its existing name, while "Save As" creates a new file with a different name/location, keeping the original intact; had the user chosen "Save As" before editing, the original file would have remained unaffected as a separate, unedited copy.
Q22. She can use the Header and Footer feature (Insert → Header and Footer) to add the title once in the header and the page number field once in the footer; once set, these will automatically repeat on every page of the document without manual retyping.
Q23. Sorting arranges the rows of a spreadsheet in ascending or descending order based on chosen column(s) — here, sorting the "total marks" or "overall percentage" column in descending order instantly brings the highest-scoring students to the top; steps: select the data range → Data menu → Sort → choose the relevant column and order (descending).
Q24. The "Students" table would have "Student_ID" as its Primary Key; the "Fees" table would include "Student_ID" as a Foreign Key referring back to the Students table. By matching this common field, the two tables can be linked (joined) to look up the fee record corresponding to any specific student.
Q25. Slide transitions are animated visual effects that occur when moving from one slide to the next; using consistent, smooth transitions (such as "Fade" or "Wipe") helps the presentation feel continuous and professional rather than jarring, keeping the audience's attention through the changeover.
Section 3 — Key Answers
Q26. Steps: (1) Create the common invoice template as the main document. (2) Prepare/select a data source containing each customer's name, address and outstanding amount. (3) Open the Mail Merge Wizard and link the data source to the document. (4) Insert merge fields (Name, Address, Amount) into the invoice template at the correct places. (5) Preview a few merged invoices to check accuracy. (6) Complete the merge to generate all 200 personalised invoices at once, ready for printing or emailing.
Q27. (a) Total monthly sales — SUM(): e.g., =SUM(B2:B31), adds all daily sales values in the range. (b) Highest single-day sale — MAX(): e.g., =MAX(B2:B31), returns the largest value in the range. (c) Days with sales exceeding ₹5000 — COUNTIF(): e.g., =COUNTIF(B2:B31,">5000"), counts cells meeting the given condition. (d) Average daily sale — AVERAGE(): e.g., =AVERAGE(B2:B31), calculates the mean of the range.
Q28. Since one student can enrol in many courses, and one course can have many students, this is a Many-to-Many relationship. It is typically implemented using a third "linking" (junction) table — e.g., "Enrolment" — containing the Student_ID and Course_ID as foreign keys referring to the Students and Courses tables respectively, with each row representing one student's enrolment in one course.
Q29. Steps: (1) Open the presentation application and choose a suitable design template/theme for consistency. (2) Create a title slide with the topic "Water Conservation" and the student's name. (3) Add a new slide explaining the importance/need for water conservation, using bullet points. (4) Add a slide with images/graphics illustrating water-saving methods. (5) Add slides covering statistics or facts, and a concluding slide summarising key takeaways, ensuring the same theme/design is applied throughout. (6) Review all slides for consistent formatting, spelling and flow, then save the presentation.
Q30. Data validation restricts the type or range of values that can be entered into a spreadsheet cell, helping maintain data accuracy; here, a validation rule can be set on the "Age" cell/column specifying a whole number between 18 and 60 (Data → Validity → Whole Number → between 18 and 60). If a user tries to enter a value outside this range (e.g., 15 or 65), the spreadsheet should display an error/warning message and reject the invalid entry, prompting the user to enter a valid age.
