Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow:
In an experiment, four metals P, Q, R and S were each dipped into freshly prepared salt solutions of the other three metals, and the results were recorded. It was observed that: P displaces Q, R and S from their respective salt solutions; Q displaces R and S but does not displace P; R displaces S but does not displace P or Q; S does not displace any of the other three metals from their salt solutions.

Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow:
A family's home circuit has a refrigerator, an air conditioner, an electric heater and several lights, all connected in parallel to the mains supply, protected by a fuse rated at 5 A. One evening, the family switches on the heater and the air conditioner simultaneously, along with the refrigerator and lights already running, and the fuse suddenly blows, cutting off power to the entire house.
Q40. (i) Why did the fuse blow in this situation? (1)
