1. Introduction | परिचय
जब किसी conductor या resistor में electric current प्रवाहित होता है, तो electrical energy का कुछ भाग heat energy में परिवर्तित हो सकता है। इसे Heating Effect of Electric Current कहते हैं।
विद्युत धारा के कारण conductor के electrons और atoms/ions के बीच interactions के परिणामस्वरूप electrical energy thermal energy में परिवर्तित होती है।

यदि current I को resistance R वाले conductor से समय t तक प्रवाहित किया जाए, तो उत्पन्न heat:

10. Electric Bulb and Heating Effect
Traditional incandescent bulb में thin tungsten filament को बहुत अधिक temperature तक गर्म किया जाता है। गर्म filament प्रकाश तथा ऊष्मा दोनों emit करता है।
Tungsten का melting point बहुत high होता है, इसलिए यह high temperature पर काम कर सकता है।
Incandescent bulb की electrical energy का एक बड़ा भाग heat में बदलता है, इसलिए modern energy-efficient lighting में LED जैसी technologies अधिक efficient होती हैं।

Fuse एक safety device है जो excessive current के कारण circuit को protect करता है।
