The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued detailed guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the conduct of practical examinations, project assessments, and internal assessments for Classes 10th and 12th in the academic session 2025-26. These regulations are mandatory for all affiliated schools, and strict compliance is required. Practical examinations play a significant role in the final board results; therefore, schools, students, and parents must adhere to them diligently.
These guidelines are based on the official CBSE circular dated December 1, 2025. For further details, refer to the PDF available on the CBSE website (www.cbse.gov.in). Students are advised to obtain the latest updates from their schools and prepare diligently.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) mandates strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for practical examinations, project assessments, and internal assessments for Classes 10 and 12 in the session 2025-26. As of January 2, 2026, practical examinations have commenced and must be completed by February 14, 2026. This document provides detailed information on conduct, photo upload, marks upload, and other key aspects, based on the official circular dated December 1, 2025, for the benefit of schools, examiners, and students.
These guidelines promote fairness and transparency. Schools should regularly check Pariksha Sangam and www.cbse.gov.in for updates. Thorough preparation will ensure excellent student performance.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has prescribed strict rules for the submission (uploading) of marks and related materials for practical examinations, project assessments, and internal assessments in Classes 10 and 12. These ensure transparency, accuracy, and timeliness. Submission primarily involves online marks and photo uploads, with limited physical requirements. As of January 2, 2026, the process is underway and must be completed promptly, based on the circular dated December 1, 2025.
These rules maintain examination integrity. Regularly monitor Pariksha Sangam and cbse.gov.in. Timely, accurate submission prevents result complications.
Per CBSE guidelines, most practical examination tasks are completed online via Pariksha Sangam portal (marks upload). Physical submissions to the Regional Office (RO) are limited. Primarily for Class 12 answer books and specific reports; no such requirement for Class 10. Based on circular dated December 1, 2025.
Schools should monitor Pariksha Sangam regularly and contact regional office promptly for issues. Refer to cbse.gov.in PDFs for official guidelines. Accurate compliance ensures smooth, fair process.
New Delhi, December 31, 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a significant notification regarding the board examinations for Classes 10 and 12 in the 2025-26 academic session. In a circular dated December 29, 2025, signed by Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, the board announced the postponement of examinations scheduled for March 3, 2026, due to administrative reasons. This adjustment applies solely to the papers on that specific date, with all other examination dates remaining unchanged. The decision impacts a limited number of subjects, providing affected students with additional preparation time while ensuring minimal disruption to the overall schedule.
The CBSE board examinations are set to commence on February 17, 2026. For Class 10, the exams will now extend until March 11, 2026, and for Class 12, until April 10, 2026. The original date sheet was released on October 30, 2025, outlining dates for core subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and languages. This revision allows students to refine their study plans accordingly.
According to the official circular, the following changes have been implemented:
The board has confirmed that revised dates will be incorporated into the updated date sheets and reflected in admit cards. Schools have been instructed to amend their internal timetables and promptly inform students and parents to prevent any confusion.
The CBSE examinations will be held in offline mode. Theory papers are typically scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (with some concluding at 12:30 p.m., depending on the subject). Practical examinations for regular schools commenced on January 1, 2026, while those in winter-bound regions were completed between November 6 and December 6, 2025.
This rescheduling offers students additional time for revision, particularly beneficial for Class 12 Legal Studies candidates, who gain over a month to align their preparation with potential higher education entrance examinations.
Although unexpected, this change need not cause undue concern. The board has directed all affiliated schools to disseminate the updated information promptly. Students are advised to consider the following points:
Parents are encouraged to support their children by maintaining morale and providing necessary guidance. School principals and teachers will remain available to assist during this period.
